More on Mob Coding

Today the team I am working one decided to work on the first few tricky tasks together as a mob. The composition of this team is slightly different to the previous team I worked with and as a team we decided to be a bit more strict with who is in the driver's seat for the mob. The rule was each person gets to be in the driver's seat for 30 minutes and must rotate with the next person after that.

This approach so far has proved to be more effective at getting people involved and keeping people involved. I found that with the previous mob coding sessions one person ended up hogging the keyboard for almost half the day while everyone else started to get fidgety.

This process we are using is an evolutionary one which we are improving on all the time. The new team members bring their own ideas to the table which provide some much needed cross pollination of ideas.
